No Brian, I did not mix it up. It was a free sack of fish food from my seed and feed guys. I am pretty sure they were hoping I would test it and then place all future orders through them. So, I tossed it out during the normal feeding times, thrown out in front of the feeders. It wound up floating to the bank and that was not good, so I have stayed with the Cargill fish food. I have no idea why they did not take to the Purina. I might have given it a better chance and feed it everyday but as u most likely remember, it was hard to come by at one time, so I stayed with the Cargill. I order two pallets at a time. One 1/8 and one 1/4" size. It always shows up in about 3 days.

Optimal BG feed comes in 40 pound bags. Oh I didn't realize that. The Cargill I buy over at Overton's is 50lb sacks. I was thinking of trying it, but that would be a little pricy. However, everyone says is good feed.

Just picked up my first 2 bags of MVP last week. The TX Hunter feeder is set up and waiting for the stockers to be delivered. I spoke to Cody at TX Hunter HQ and he told me the factory settings would work fine for the largest sized MVP pellets.
I have not heard of anyone else on this forum having to change the factory settings for MVP. Cody told me MVP is very similar in pellet size to Purina Gamefish Chow. He told me the TH model LM135 throws 6 ounces of this chow every 4 seconds (I did the math and will feed twice daily for 13 seconds).
Once again, Cody @ TH did say the factory setting will work. When I dug deeper and looked through some specifications for the unit I bought it did confirm that the largest MVP pellet would fit/work by a decent margin. I hope that is correct but I won't know for sure until my fish are delivered in the next week or so. BM61.

It throws AM500 and Optimal at 8 oz in 6 seconds.

I did a little adjusting on my TH feeder by adding a washer to the spin tray area and was able to increase the amount and size it threw.

Did you put it between the spin motor and the mounting bracket?

Yes Brian, I added the washer between the mounting bracket and the spinner plate. I did not make a big difference but it did help to throw the Cargill 1/4". Improved the spin plate opening by maybe a 1/8 to 1/16", or the thickness of the washer.
