Anyone know the difference between the Vertex XL2 and the XL2SH? I know the XL2SH isn't supposed to be deeper than 8', but what is it that makes it different?

I will be interested to see this as well. I assume it is how close the disks are placed but am curious as well if they have a different disk for this arrangement. Looking at their website they seem to use the same pictures for both setups. Anyway hopefully somebody will chime in instead of my guess... Dave

You guys need to have a vendor of Vertex products respond. I will see if esshup has time to post.

From a demo video it shows the difference is in the spacing of the diffusers.

So, if I am looking at this right, it would not be the end of the world to run a shallow unit in deeper than 8'. Just not going to get ideal lift.

So, if I am looking at this right, it would not be the end of the world to run a shallow unit in deeper than 8'. Just not going to get ideal lift. Correct. IIRC the testing that Vertex did showed closer together disks moved the same volume of water as disks spaced further apart in water that is 8' deep or less. i.e. disks spaced further apart in water less than 8' deep moved less water than disks spaced closer together. It's how the bubble column helped each other lift more water to the surface, sort of like drafting in bicycle or auto racing.
