Although the forum provides instruction on how to upload an image to the Photo Gallery section of the forum, it seems a lot of folks really need help uploading the images they want to there personal posts and profiles on the forum so I thought I would share some things I’ve learned. I use photobucket so that’s how I’ve tailored the hints.
To upload a picture from photobucket to appear in your post or Signature:
Pull up the picture in photobucket you would like to have appear in your post. On the right hand side of the screen will be 4 sharing options. Click on the last one “IMG”. Photobucket can lag so wait until your cursor turns from an arrow to a hand shape and then click on it until it flashes yellow and says “copied.”
You now have the link you need. Go to the forum and just do a Ctrl –V(or Paste) in your post or signature where you want the picture to appear and the link will drop into your post.
Done!
There are more complicated ways to do this by using the "File Manager" in the forum but I find this the easiest and most straight forward method.
Creating a personal Avatar (That little picture that appears under some folks names when they post):
Save the picture you want as an Avatar to Photobucket. The picture has to be no bigger than 80 x 80 pixels so resize it as required. Then just follow the same instructions as above but this time click the second sharing option, “Direct,” in photobucket. Once you have the link, click on your “My Stuff” at the top of the forum page and then Edit Profile. Scroll all the way down and do a Ctrl-V(or Paste) in the box by URL to your avatar. Click Submit. Then go to Edit Preferences and click Yes for show users avatar. Click Submit.
Done!
Using an existing image that already appears in the forum like “I Subscribe.”
Put your cursor over the image you want to capture in the forum and do a right click then click copy. This will create a copy as an image file like, GIF, JPG, etc. Save the image to your computer, laptop, etc. Post it to photobucket and follow the appropriate instruction above for your needs.
Done!
