I have Cutrine Plus liquid ready to dose my FA. Everything I read on Cutrine plus is wait until the water is 60 degrees or warmer. However, I also have read to get ahead of the FA before it takes off. Seems contradictory.

Can I apply now and it be worth it? or am I wasting money because it was not effective in cold water?

Different species of algae grow in different water temps. What you have growing now in less than 60°F water temps won't be the same species of algae that you will have growing in 70+°F water temps.

Bill Cody is much more versed in algae than I am. Maybe he can shed more light on the subject if he sees this.

That is a really good question and I also will be interested in answers. Just got my first look at the ponds after being away for three months. Because of some unusually warm weather in February and March, FA is already flaring up. Nothing serious yet, but seeing it in shallow water and a little around the edges.

As I recall from last year, I started seeing it in March so I ordered the Cutrine and used it a couple weeks later. We are getting another cold blast with freezing temperatures right now. My thinking is will let this cold spell pass, then as it warms up again treat around the edges.
