Frequent peruser not signed in often...Well in northeast ohio we had an early ice opening...now gone...small 1/4 pond anyway; we have had huge organic runoff last few years....I suspect from the monsoon type rain we now get...plus maybe a bad septic upstream etc. etc. Anyway, last year you could see the FA under the ice...but waited till hit the right temps...50-60 degrees///// was way behind the eight ball by then. So when the ice opened up about 8 or 10 feet from shore went out in my icebreaking paddleboat and got Cutrine plus granuals on all FA I could get to. (little battery operated spreader from Scotts was an immense improvement over just throw it out about $20)
I had a bag of cutrine available...not sure if I did not I would go out and get some...
My question is at abput 34 degrees was this a waste of effort?
Observation....was flabbergasted to see duckweed floating under surface.
FYI...attempting to deal with excess phosphorous seperately.
Dick....Offer a sincere thank you to someone today. You just made the world a better place.....unless you teach someone to fly fish...then you really make a difference!
