I have been snooping threads from this forum for several years as I daydreamed about building my own pond. We are finally about to close on some land with an absolutely wonderful 3.5 acre pond site, so I thought it was high time I registered so that I can post progress and get valuable feedback from the group. Very excited to be a subscriber and look forward to getting to know you guys!

Hi Pat, Looking forward to it! I'll find the appropriate forum category for a more detailed description of my plans/goals but here's a quick view of my planned pond site. Of course, I've still got a timber harvest to plan before I can even get started on a pond project...but I figure its never too early to start planning. The red area represents about 30 acres of timber to be harvested to make way for the pond and pasture.

Wow, lots of representation from Texas! I didn't realize you guys were so serious about your ponds. ;-) Hopefully you guys are avoiding the nasty weather going on today.

It would be great to see breakdown of registered users from Texas. I bet they would be the state with the highest number of registered PB members, perhaps over 100 registered folk from Texas? I bet Mr. Lusk or someone in the PB office could publish an interesting graphic with a map with number of people registered by state

1 inch at Bowie. Yep, there some Texans here. However, we are also pretty deep in East Coast guys and a lot of middle of the country folks. And 80+% are rednecks of one kind or another.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
