I read all the buzz about the great results people on this forum have with the optimal bluegill fish food. I even started using it with my bluegill in my aquaponics systems.

I noticed today that at some point optimal has added a new aquaponic recipe where they add some of the minerals to the fish food that are often deficient in aquaponic systems like iron and phosphorous.

Does anyone have any experience with this product?

Optimal says on the sumary that these additions do not hinder fish growth or health. I will take that at face value.

But it still leaves me wondering how available these nutrients will be to the plants and at what frequency. Will this require inline mineralization of the fish solids which are oftentimes removed?

Any info, personal experience or general chemistry/biology advice about the practice of adding nutrient modifications to fish food targeted at plant growth would be awesome.

Thanks!

Brian
