I wanted to pass along a relatively cheap little "toy" I recently discovered. Solar string lights. They work great out at the property. I have a couple of really dark areas and so I thought I would wrap a string of these solar lights around like 5 different trees about 75 yards away from the cabin. Oh boy do these things work. It's cool that ya don't need electricity, they are only $10-$15 a string, and they have several settings like blinking, non-blinking, swirl, settings. So that whole area of darkness has now "come alive". It will be neat when entertaining guests and they see them at night. Solar String Lights

I just put a very cheap ($1.25 on special) solar landscape light next to my crossbow target so that I can hopefully see it well enough to decock the crossbow after dark. My expensive decocking arrow hit a rock in the ground and broke. You can learn from my mistake. I'll let you know how well the light works when I get back after dark.

Just enough light, when tilted just right, to see the target.

I wonder how these would work as fish attractor "bug lights" mounted low on a dock? I may try one next Spring/Summer and report back. Solar Power Bug Light #1 Solar Power Bug Light #2

Looks interesting and just might work. We have no shortage of the power source.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
