Hello All! I am a new member, but I have done some background reading while honing my land/pond dreams over the past 2 years. My wife and I have purchased about 100 acres in the hills north of Stuart, Virginia, near the blue ridge parkway with a view of Lover's Leap (if you know where that is:). One of the main selling points was that the prior owner had a pond survey, and the site has plentiful water with multiple springs and a pristine watershed. We have spent the past year waiting for the land to dry out after the torrential rains that began a couple of months after we closed on the property, so that we could get a proper gravel road built into the property (~0.8 miles over the ridge, down into the valley, and back to the home site). We have home plans but no builder yet, and it may take a year or more for building to even begin. While waiting, I would like to get to work on planning for the pond. If anyone has a recommendation for a local/nearby engineer/pond consultant, I would be very appreciative.
Thanks,
Joe
