Hi all, I have a pit dug that is about 12-13ft long and about 5ft wide. At it's deepest my best estimate is that I can make it about 21"-24" deep. I am considering a billboard tarp as a liner with underlayment and dirt or gravel over the top of it. My question to the forum is: Have any of you used a billboard tarp as a liner with lasting results? I have been researching it and have not found any examples. Thanks

I've never used one but you may find this old thread helpful http://forums.pondboss.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=223712It seems to me there was another discussion about this a year or so ago but I can't find it now

Thanks, Bill. I believe I have read that one previously.

I have bought many billboard tarps, and all of them have at least small holes in them. Some are better than others. So, they might slow down a really bad leak in a pond, but would think that for the trouble of install, it would be better to go with something else. Perhaps two or three layers of them? I don't know how regular liners work, but wouldn't dirt just slide down the vinyl surface exposing it. Seems like the dirt doesn't have anything to knit to.
Is that a typo above? Only 24" deep?
