For me smile
Got a visit from my Granddaughter who loves to fish with Grandpa and not quite at 3 years old has no problem handling worms and loves to touch each fish, but we need to quickly release them back to their family grin

My biggest so far was .92 lb caught the other day and I was just hoping to land one over a pound. And tonight, topped it, plus some with this 1.63 lb'r right at 10".

What a thrill!

BTW, it was on the dock because of flopping out of my hand and yes, I wish I had a better scale for the BG.

Very exciting none the less!

Here's another one caught tonight, but not weighed. And these chunks were all hanging out under the dock!

Love the helmet head on this one smile .

Great looking fish Keith!!

BTW, sorry I didn't give you a shout Saturday when I was in Lincoln. I was in a bit of a hurry after dropping fish off at Bruce's.

lovn,
Is that bronze coloration on the last BG common for you?

As for the pretty grandbaby, I wish my two grandsons (ages 2 and 3) would enjoy fishing that much. Mine want to go fishing until a fish is caught and they start losing interest because, I think, they are a little scared of it. Perhaps they'll come around and, if not, there the one year old girl who may become Poppy's fishing buddy! hehe.

Thanks for the comments, everyone! I feel so blessed to be here and to have learned and experienced so much.

dj, I haven't commented on the variations of colors on my BG, which it seems like they're ALL different, because I didn't want to sound ignorant blush . With that being said, I really haven't seen any consistent color patterns, or know enough to know if any are unusual. I'm happy enough at this point to tell the difference between BG, HBG, RES and GSF smile .

As far as that sweet little grandbaby (she has me SO wrapped!), of all my great nieces and nephews, she is the only one who just can't get enough of fishing and the outdoors.

Funny story, she always grabs my PB magazines and wants to sit on my lap to read, pointing out the fishes and always asking "what kind is that one?" And every time she sees the PB logo fish she says "that's Pond Boss".

But last night when I pointed to it and asked "and who's that", she said "that's Cowboy Pond Boss" I said cowboy? She says "yes because he's wearing a cowboy hat".

But she was thrown off when we got to the Q&A page because it's wearing a mortarboard and she caught it right away! shocked .

I just can't get enough of her!

Very nice BG....feels good doesn't it? wink

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

To weigh the fish, go get one of the bags that they use to bring fish to the weigh-in at the fish tournaments. Put some water in it and get a weight. Toss in fish and weigh the whole mess. Less stress on the fish that way.

Or bag and water and fish. Weigh. Remove fish, letting water drip off into bag. Release fish, weigh water and bag. Do the math. wink

Oh, congrats on the great fish!!!

From my recent experiences, from the smallest to the largest I haven't noticed a difference. They're all incredibly good!

Ranks right up there with BCP IMO!

Or, for lazy folks such as myself, put the bag & water on the scale and hit "tare." It will automatically zero out that weight when you put the fish in it and weigh again.

LovinLiving,

So awesome! And here I am all excited over 13oz BG. Sheeze. Now, about that adorable thing fishing with you, I don't believe she could be any cuter. It's good to have nice fishing partners.

Thanks everyone, all credit going to all things (and people) PB!

TDK, I believe the first one is a Northern Bluegill, the second appears to have some HBG traits but that's just a WAG on my part.

Peachgrower, thanks! and Brielle gets the credit, I just assisted smile . At just under 3 She knows "Bluegill", "Crappie" and "Bass". She is unbelievably smart! All the kids who have fished the pond have taken an interest in knowing, then love to name what they've caught. Such a pleasure, especially watching them go from not wanting to touch the fish, to eventually baiting their own hook and removing their own hook (some still needing the "fish towel").

PS to CMM - Cim, although my son was in the delivery room when Brielle was born, he's not her father, but has been her "daddy" for nearly 3 years, up until his gf broke things off and she won't let us see that little princess. There was nothing but a glow about her when she came out to the farm and I know she loves her "Grandpa Keith". I love her and miss her SO badly, but I also know, not as much as my son.

Love and cherish those babies every minute and every chance you can!

All the fish above appear to be pure strain BG; 2 female, 1 male. Good job getting them to this size. Keep them growing.
