whats the point of stocking ponds with bullheads? i see post of people asking how to get rid of them and it makes me ask why they were put there in the first place they on average are only half a pound so why even bother unless u want to have massive catfish or bass to eat them

Do a search for fish hatcheries that are selling bullheads. How many do you find? Most are put in ponds by mother nature when ponds get flooded during a storm.

Smith Creek in New York IIRC at least used to have them on their fish list. I remember being surprised to see them on the list.

Some folks really like them. I cleaned and ate a lot of them when I was young because a large creek near our house had a lot of them but, then again, we would clean and eat about anything we could catch. They can get well over a pound and aren't bad eating. I no longer eat them since I grew up and I now prefer certain other fish. I would never stock them. Zett's also used to have them in their catalogue. Not sure now.
