I have read that some food like purina game fish chow that I put into my feeder are more grain based than others and fish (carnivores) (CNBG) will not process as much of it creating more waste.
As tilapia naturally eat a lot of plant based food will they process this food more toughly?
Also, what about common carp (koi)?

Bobby I think you are spot on . I ran out of Cargill 4512 so I went to tractor supply and picked up some multi species 36%. Now I have blue green algae. I might be reaching but there might be something to it.

IMO there is not enough difference in most good fish food to make that happen unless you are feeding at very , very high levels and/or have a very small pond. You don't see that in commercial operations and they don't use the best fish food in most cases. Most fish food has a base of mostly other than fish meal.
