Pond Boss Forums INTRO Questions & Observations New Pond Questions

I am look into buying some property right now where I will be able to have a nice 10 or so acre pond and house thats close to it. I am definitely going to get the place inspected first. But how much will it cost to get everything done like soil samples, watershed calculations, pond size potential according to watershed, dam size and placement, etc.? Also how long will it take to get this completed. Anything else to add to that list of preliminary checkings?

One more question about new ponds. I've read several books and articles on pond management and know what to do in the beginning...start out with fatheads and BG's. But my question is what size bluegill should I add? 2-3in? Also should I start a supplemental feeding program before the bass are stocked or just wait until after they are stocked and start slimming down the BG population?

However, They (NRCS people) operate on a different clock than most normal people, so don't

The normal size bluegill from the hatchery will be about 2 inches or maybe a little less.
