I was in poor health this Spring. Is it too late to fertilize my 5 acre pond? Muffs. July 15, 2016 Ewest is giving you good advice, Muffs. Fertilization is a double edged sword. I saw that for myself when a good pond with low pH, around 5.5, was fertilized. Problem was, they had water hyacinths on the margins. Those hyacinths went crazy, blooming (beautiful blue color, I must say) and spreading like wildfire. Within six months half the 12 acre pond was unfishable, totally covered. Look before you leap!
