Have got an ID on everything but this. I may have to get some better pics of it, but maybe someone will chime in on it. I have used ewest's link to the A&M site on aquatic plants but there isn't anything there like this. This algae is only on the bottom. I have nothing on top. It is on all the gravel, weeds, etc on the pond bottom. When you step into the pond it comes up in a cloud. Similar to clay when mashed in the water. The cloud floats for a while then settles again. I think I lost some fish I stocked yesterday due to it. When I released them, I had walked into the water with the bags. Some of the fish stayed in the cloud and today they are on the bank. Here are some pics of it, you can see it under the water. The algae is on the grass. You can see in the second how its covered it. I will get better pics tomorrow. You can see how it covers the gravel in the bream beds. Like I said though, it makes a cloud...not so much slimy...and none on surface...just bottom. Thanks guys!

Filamentous algae starts growing on the bottom. It only floats when gasses are captured in its thick mat. There are different varieties of it as I understand.
That looks similar to what I have around the edges of my pond in shallow water. I think it might be a different variety of FA than what I get in the very early spring when the water is cold, but I am unsure of that.
FA might not be what you have, but that is my best guess till you get better information from others that know a lot more about it than me.

Second photo looks a lot like FA covered Coontail I have on my main pond...invasive and hard to control. I suggest collecting some and provide close up photos and post here. Someone can recommend treatment. I've been battling mine for 3 years throwing everything I have at it and it's a stalemate, at best.

I suspect that the submerged plant is of a variety that we discussed on the board a couple of months ago. I'm rehabbing some samples that were mailed to me and will try to take some photos in a few days. Based on what I'm seeing so far, I think it is a species of primrose that hosts two different types of leaf-structures (submersed vs emergent). I'll post an update in a few days.
