how do I mix and apply this to pond weed? I think you have to be genius to read and understand the instructions that come with the bottle. Thanks!

the instructions say 2 quarts of Tsunami DQ per 100 gallons spray carrier plus 1 quart to 1 gallon per 100 gallons of water of an approved aquatic wetting agent. How to I convert those numbers down for use in my 2 gallon sprayer? Thanks!

There are 32 fluid ounces per quart.

Your post says you need 64 ounces of herbicide per 100 gallons of water for the mixture you plan on making. For just 2 gallons of water you would need 1.28 ounces herbicide and at least half that amount of surfactant. One US fluid ounce equals two US tablespoons or 6 US teaspoons.

By my calculations you need roughly two tablespoons and 1.9 teaspoons of herbicide to mix in two gallons of water, at least half that amount of surfactant.

Two tablespoons and two teaspoons should equal 1.33 fluid ounces.

Hopefully someone will be along to double check my calculation.

Just curious, what kind of pond vegetation are you treating with diquat?

With diquat you should use an approved surfactant (wetting agent) like Cygnet Plus in your mix to get the results you are looking for.

What is missing from the equation is what area or acre foot of water that is being treated.

It's not only how much water and surfactant is mixed with "X" of the chemical, it's how big of an area that is being sprayed too.........

Call Sanco industries @ 260-426-6281. Ask for Andrea or Glenda and explain in detail what you are trying to accomplish and pond size. If you don't know the size, they will Google earth it and measure it for ya. They sell a surfactant to use with it.

Most of the Diquat herbicides I see listed are 37.3% and show an application rate of 1-2 gallons per surface acre. Is this not correct?
