I try to throw most of the pellets into this enclosure. Here are a couple of pictures taken today of my catfish feeding. The darker picture was taken through polarized sunglasses to see deeper into the water. Any ideas on the identity of the weed on the surface in the foreground? There are lots of those on the shallow side of my pond.
John, it's hard to tell from the pics, but it looks like a plant we have here. I just call it dwarf American pond weed, because I haven't been able to find it identified as anything else.
Ours is not very invasive, and I would also like to know what it actually is.
The FHM and small BG sure like it for hiding. Before the pond was renovated last August, it was nearly covered with the stuff. Some of the roots must have been left or scattered in the uppermost reaches where there was no silt to clean out, and there was minimal dozing.
