Hello all,
I have a 2 acre pond. I want to pump water out of it up a hill about 75 feet to a water feature. The feature will be water coming out of an old hand pump off of a windmill onto large rocks (essentially a stream) that will return to the pond.
What kind of electric pump do I need? Any tips to making this happen?

Put a waterwheel in the stream to generate electricity to help power the pump. Does the windmill still work? If it works, why not use it to pump some of the water? You could harness the wind energy to pump water to turn the waterwheel to store electricity to power the pump.

Turtlemtn,
There is no windmill. Just the hand pump. Also, there is no current stream. I want to make a man made stream that starts part way up the hill from the pond. The water from the pond will be pumped to the top of the stream and will recirculate back to the pond.

A working windmill would have been handy. Sounds like it's a question of a pump, pipes, and wiring. Still, a waterwheel might look nice, and some of the energy it takes to pump the water up the hill could be recaptured.
