Dang esshup, you are feeding steroids and not fish food aren't you? C'mon you can tell us. Those are some amazing numbers, can't wait to see them when they get above 18".

Here's 2 out of Esshup's pond, of 4 I caught 7-1-15, all over 4 lbs. Caught on a white Chatterbait,,,,, which is still in his pond grin

Whatever he's feeding them, is working!!!

A client wanted a trophy LMB pond. Goal is a 10% LMB here in Indiana.

Going against "rules of thumb" for northern ponds, we stocked it with forage last year. I sourced some feed trained LMB this year, and sexed them to hopefully ensure only females were stocked. There are no other LMB in the pond.

Part of the pond is fenced off for a kids fishing pond. It was easy to do because of some features they have. That is stocked with RES, HBG, YP and HSB. Feeding Optimal in a Texas Hunter feeder since stocking them last year, the 1"-3" HBG and RES are around 7"-8", the 3"-4" and 6"-8" YP that were stocked are being caught now at 12" and the 4"-6" HSB are around 12".

There is another feeder feeding the same food in the main part of the pond.

Each LMB that was stocked, was tagged with a numbered floy tag, and each LMB was weighed and measured before stocking.

They will be carefully watched. I can't let too much out of the bag, I need to get their permission, and it will be a multi month article in Pond Boss Magazine.

Most of the LMB I catch are only 10% as big as I'd really like. wink

Here up north in Indiana, or down south? Ten pounds is certainly doable down here, I know of a couple spots that have such fish.

Be interesting to see how it plays out.

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

I saw an 10.5 many years ago in a lake that was later absorbed by Brookeville Reservoir (Indiana). We were going out to fish at about 4 AM and the guy that caught it was just coming in. He said he fished the same brush pile all night cause he just knew there was a big one in there. I suspect the fish either went on the wall or was dinner that night....back in the early 70's.

Down by you Tony. Same place that was stocked with all the forage fish last year.
