Hey,
A lot of us use FHM for bait from time to time to fish for Crappie, Perch, etc. Have you ever tried Rosey Reds (RR)? I can actually buy RRs cheaper at the pet shops around me than I can buy FHM from the bait shops. I'm wondering if that bright color might make RR a superior bait to FHM?
Anybody got experience or thoughts on the subject?

Yes, where they are legal. It's like that old adage * a walleyes favorite color is chartreuse, unless it's something else" sometimes they work better and some times they dont.

Thanks. When you say "where they are legal" are you saying there are places where fishing with RRs is not legal or that live minnows of any kind are not legal? RRs are just a different color strain of FHM so it would be interesting if they are illegal and FHM are not.

I use RR's when pan fishing sometimes. Trailer on a jig or tube.

I have argued with a game warden before and he was trying to say they were gold fish. Ignorance is bliss right! Simply saying I bought these at the pet store, may get a person unreasonably hassled.

The thing is Game wardens typically are just a LEO not a biologist or even versed in things fishy...
