Crappie have a history of spawning in waters with large depth fluctuations . Unless water depth is changing rapidly then fluctuation should not matter. Last edited by ewest; 04/10/16 07:44 PM.

Light penetration also has a bearing as it effects both photoperiod and temp. But most pond fish can spawn in and tolerate modestly muddy water.
