FYI, the factory setting on the TH feeder is 3/8" gap between the bottom of the food hopper and the flat area in the middle of the spin plate. If the food hopper has one side that is a bit lower than all the rest, measure from that one.
Easy way to do that is glue together enough washers to make 3/8". Use ones small enough to fit through the hole on the bottom of the feed hopper. Put it in the hopper and let it rest on the spin plate. Move it to the side, slide spin plate up, tighten it down, then remove the washers with a piece of stiff wire with a 1/2" or so long 90° bend at the end.
On my "to do" list this Spring is make a detailed set of instructions on how to adjust the spin plate and put it on my website.

OneMoreCast, I put AM600 in my small Texas Hunter right out of the box and I had the same experience as Eric.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Corkman, where in VA do you live? I get my Purina products from Homestead Hardware in Thornburg. But, they don't stock it so you will need to call in advance to order. Ask for Sherry.

Yeah, my local feedstore don't carry Aquamax either, but they will order it when I want it. They do carry other Purina products.

A friend just found a Purina cat food coupon in his feeder. He found it when the feeder quit dispensing feed. He spent 2 hours disassembling the feeder to figure out why it was jammed up. The coupon was originally in a AM 500 bag. Sure hope we're not feeding catfood!

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

As of earlier this week my Purina dealer had not heard of it. I copied the back cover of Pond Boss and gave it to him. It seems that it isn't available until around April 4,
Per a note from Purina: "The only way we can ensure that a dealer is aware of the product is if he has read the product introduction information on our bi-weekly newsletter and/or his sales specialist has informed him of this new opportunity".
To get your dealer on board you may need to do something similar to what I did.
I will also follow-up with my dealer next week and see what he has found.

What's the going rate for AquaMax 500? Saw it today for $37.15 for a 50 pound bag. How much for AquaMax MVP? Haven't seen it.

Picked up MVP yesterday. Have not tried it yet. I don't remember the exact price, but it was just $0.50 per fifty pounds more than 500 and 600.

Sort of like what would happen if Mars Candy combined peanut AND regular M&M's in one, newly designed bag, and charged a little more for it? Not exactly a revolutionary idea, but clever marketing nonetheless.
"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"
If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1) And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1) Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT? PB answer: It depends.

Same concept as with GFC which Bob suggested to Purina years ago. Advantage is the new product has higher protien and some sinking pellets. Watch for PB mag article on advantages of sinking pellets in combination with floating.

Earlier in this thread Bob mentioned that the feed formulation is the same as we're used too.... is it the same as 500/600, with the higher protein coming from a comparison with GFC, or does the new stuff have higher protein than 500/600?

AQ 400, 500, & 600 $36.80 AVP $37.15 35 cents per 50 pounds difference. My latest receipt for Largemouth was $32.75 but it was a different clerk and I don't know if he knew what he was doing or not.

Website says:
MVP: 43% protein, 12% crude fat, 4% fiber
AM 600: 41% protein, 12% crude fat, 4% fiber

I called the local farm store in Lumberton Ms. yesterday where I normally get my am400, am600, and aquamax LMB to try to get MVP. He called the Purina salesperson who said it isn't available yet. Is this a geography issue or is it a bad salesperson issue?
