I'm ready for some more snow Said good by to my 12 year old Red 2500 HD this morning, it was time. Dealer still has to add the Chrome running boards and spray in the bed liner. This thing is a lot bigger than my other 2500. Heck, I could live in it if I had to Yep, that's a full size box! People take a second look because not many of these around. WB is just under 170". The color is pretty cool on this because it changes to different hues based on surroundings and light conditions with the metal flake. My old truck would go thru some deep snow, this should do better. Awesome truck for sure! I may wait a couple years to see how the reviews go, but I am really interested in the new titan with the cummins engine. Especially the Warrior edition! I can say that after 26,000 miles in 8 months, I am LOVING the power ad torque of the new, second generation 6.7 Ford PowerStroke...450 HP and 860 lb-ft of torque off the showroom floor. Only downside is the EPA mandated zero emissions for diesel's means Diesel exhaust fluid and a particulate filter that will cost $1700 every 100K miles. Forums say if you pill the filter and reprogram the exhaust fluid pump, you gain 75 HP and 8 MPG

I bought a 2016 Ram 1500 on Black Friday. The dealer had Hellcat info everywhere I looked, and I'll admit I glanced through it.....just not seriously. I really have gotten old, I suppose.
Still haven't gotten used to this freakin' truck....it starts weird. Longer cranking interval than what I'm used to , then a WHOOM! when it takes off. The hemi does sound good, however, and it will flat out run. We'll see if Ram can hold up like my Chevy's did. Well Spark, This truck smokes my old 2500HD with the 5.7 Hemi hands down on every front so far. With the 6.4 MDS Hemi, average round trip fuel economy to and from work taking the back roads (not the highway) was 15.7 MPG, and that's about an hour one way. Average speed about 58 MPH. This thing handles a lot better and drives on ice like it's not there. Old truck had a hard lock differential and even turning a corner on snow in 4WD, it hopped all over the place. It was fighting itself. The ride is very smooth! When I got my old truck in 2004, that thing was so stiff you needed a kidney belt on the slightest of bumps, and still true today. I could probably overload my old truck much more than this, but don't plan on doing that. With the long wheelbase, I buzzed around the normal places and this is much easier to negotiate a tight parking spot than my other truck. My old truck served it's purpose well for the reason I bought it, and that was for some rough work and hauling, and did it's job very well. I don't plan on beating this new one up that bad Getting old!

Rex, I thought about the diesel which would have only added about $6,600.00 over the 6.4 MDS Hemi, but that extra expense was a bit too much for me. Couldn't see any advantage for my purpose, and with the initial mileage I'm getting, I'm not complaining!

I know what you mean on the diesel, JKB! It was almost a must for me. I put on 26000 miles in under 8 months with mine....20,000 of which were when I was pulling at least 7000# and as much as 18,000. I have to admit, it's surprising to have 18,000 ponds behind you, and your truck doesn't even notice. I get 12.8 MPG fully loaded and 14.5 empty.
The fact that I got new, for the price of a 2 year old used was just icing on the cake when I bought it...though it was still the price of a decent lake cabin...lol

I could do without hearing all that! I am still driving a 7.3L!

I love it Setterguy!!! I haven't been on a dirt bike since I was blown up! (age 19) It's fun for me. I get the same kick out of riding that bike down a trail at 30 mph, as I do from riding a big bike down the black top at 80. But not quite as much traffic. Gotta jump on those warmer days when we get them in Jan/Feb.
9 yr old pond, 1 ac, 15' deep. RES, YP, GS, FHM (no longer), HBG (going away), SMB, and HSB (only one seen in 5 yrs) Restocked HSB (2020) Have seen one of these. I think that's about all I should put in my little pond. Otter attack in 2023

We had a little bit of thunder snow yesterday morning with a lightning strike within a 1/4 mile of the house. Ended up with 10" to 11" of very wet snow, just to the south of us Lincoln had 7" to 8" of snow. The schools were closed yesterday and today and 140 miles of I-80 was shut down. Glad I don't live in Grand Island, they had 13-1/2" of wet snow. We never did lose power but there were a lot of power outages in Lincoln yesterday.

I'm happy with the rain that we had. Not happy with the power going out a number of times....... A few years ago they trimmed back all the trees on the power lines up here north of the river back to the sub station. We use to loose power all the time before that. They were recently trimming south of the river, where they recently had a major power outage. Maybe a couple months ago I noticed they marked a lot of trees in front down our road and are going to be cutting out about another 30 feet into my property. That's OK because I wanted a lot of those trees gone. Didn't want to risk cutting the big ones down myself, and the tree guy's charge a pile!

Still impressed with the average fuel economy I'm getting on this rig.
E: Removed my rant about other drivers.
