Anybody else dealing with it? NWS said we'd get 1/10th inch. We ended up with almost a quarter inch. Fortunately temps are going up above freezing.
Sorry no pics as I got busy and forgot to take pics.
Lights flickered 3 or 4 times and went out for a second so far.
I have a 12 volt agitator ready to go hooked to a battery -- except the negative terminal-- if needed for my bluegills in the RAS. One of the high schools has my inverter and batteries.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

We've been getting sleet all day and high winds up to 50 mph. The freezing rain forecasted never showed up. Winter storm warning extended for a few more hours. So far so good on the power.

Woke up to wind and freezing rain. After about 1/8" accumulation it then turned to ice balls and continued until there was over an inch on the ground. That went on all day long, so the amount on the ground never varied much, even though the bottom layer was continually melting. Then the freezing rain started back up.
Pine tree branches that are normally 6' off the ground were bent down to the ground and making marks in the ice balls on the ground. Around 5pm, the temp finally climbed above freezing and things started to thaw. They are supposed to continue to climb slightly all night long, and hopefully all this junk will be gone by the morning.
The mailbox was no match for the slush/junk that was thrown by the snow plow. 3rd mailbox in 3 years........
It was about 15'-20' from the post, mail was covered with slush and the mailbox will probably be retired for this winter. I will put up the winter mailbox - it's one screwed to the top of a 3' tall wooden step ladder. It can get thrown over by the snowplow and set back upright without any damage to it.
Power went out here 8 different times, and I cannot count the "brown outs" where the voltage dropped. I lost internet this afternoon and it was off until 7 pm. Longest power outage was 15 minutes.
I gave up trying to do anything on the computer until this evening.

Yes it is, for better or for worse.
Kate barked last night, so I got up to see what was going on. Must have been the wind moving something. Anyway, temp was 41°F at 2 am, up from the 33°F when I went to sleep. When I got up at 6, it was back down to 33°F, and this morning it has been snowing off and on.
At least all the ice is off the trees and we don't have to worry about more broken branches or power outages. A friend over near New Carlisle had power go out yesterday and it's not scheduled to be turned back on until 1:30 p.m. New Years eve.

Was surprised to see my biggest pond is overflowing a little. Didn't think we got that much rain, but I guess the on and off rain over the last few weeks has added up. Have your ponds come up a little recently Scott?

A little. We had 3" or precip here, at least that what was in the rain gauge from over the weekend/Mnday.
