Walking up to the new ponds earlier this fall one morning I had two mink playing hide and go seek under the field grass I'd brush hogged. Got a muskrat already... Hopefully, the mink will find it. Noticed most of my frogs seem to be gone though. Walking down from bow hunting one day, four large birds flew out of a tree near the big pond. They circled around and flew right over me about 35 yards up. Mature bald eagles!!! Sat and watched a kingfisher work over the fatheads. Had as many as 50 wood ducks come in to roost in the evening for about a month. I never dreamed just how much, and how fast, the wildlife would take to these ponds. It is such a rewarding experience! I love my ponds. Got to start on a house and a barn soon. But... I have a couple more spots that just MIGHT hold water....

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
