Tim, I tried the no carb diet a couple of years ago and it worked. Of course, like all regimens, when I started adding a little bit of carbs the fat came back pretty quickly.
I'm 5 ft 11 inches and 205 lbs. I think about 1/2 of that is now belly and I feel like a damn slob.
No carbs means no bread, cereal, sugars, booze, etc. That gets old pretty quickly.

"Off Season" means off carbs season.
My current routine is 20 carbs or less a day, average. If over one day; make it up the following day(s).
I have found the workouts to be more of a feel good effort rather than a weight loss activity. Obviously, the more calories you burn the more weight you may lose as a secondary benefit. I work out 1 hour each day. If I miss a day or two in a week I don't let it bother me. The trick is to make the workout a normal part of your day. A 0545 wake up; then workout.
Vodka has no carbs. I limit myself to one beer per week, usually on the weekend.

It has been nearly 1 month since I rebooted my workout and low carb routine. I am down a Bremerpond 7 lb LMB and feeling great.
The workout no longer causes any soreness so it is about time to up the weights and measures.

You didn't have to post this. I'm putting it off every day.

Stink lines emanating from Texas near Dave's house. Must have started sweating it out on the pound wacker.

That would probably be Allen Hall. He's lost 30 pounds. If he shaved and got a haircut it would probably more.
I'm enjoying my slovenliness. Over the last couple of years I've developed an enviable set of table muscles. If I fell forward I'd bounce right back on my feet.
Charlene is shopping for a Nautilus Elliptical. She says it's in my best interest and I will enjoy it.

When I was doing the physical therapy thing, the gal showed me a number of very simple exercise's to do for a guy who is not really over weight and not trying to be a body builder or athlete, just some maintenance, and they work great! No, I am not buying any equipment

a couple of yr's ago I booked my first elk hunt and to get into shape, I walked in a full size Olympic pool. Back and forth the length of the pool. it worked great. I did this because it took my weight off my back and allowed me to walk a distance I was not able to do normally. I need to start doing it again.

How did it work when you got into the skinny oxygen area?

Dave, as far as the skinny oxygen, I think walking in that pool must have helped with that also, but after the hunt and then lighting up probably did not help so much I used to walk a tread mill at home every morning while watching Fox but woke up one morning with some serious back problems and that stopped the treadmill workout. I really need to get back to the walking in the pool. It takes the weight off the back but gives resistance in moving against the water and gave me strength I did not have prior to the pool walking. I also lost some weight, but I don't remember the number. Now if I could come up with something to strengthen my week mind? Tracy

My Thor-like strength comes from my flowing platinum mane. I actually hit light heavyweight(205), and was told to stop by my boss. I think the final tally was 58 pounds shed over a 2 year period.

Al, "Thor like strength" " Flowing Platinum Mane" That's funny When we met @ the PBC and I noticed your longer hair, I just thought you were saving money from not getting haircuts, and spending that money on the pond. And I am sure you noticed my longer hair, Platinum and wavy, I did it because I have always had long hair and the girls like to run their hands through it PS, I hate spending money on hair cuts Tracy

Heck, as long as she likes the "Winoesque" look keep it that way.

" My Thor-like strength comes from my flowing platinum mane."
Probably a few more things 'caused by that too...

I'm feeling bullied now. I knew we should have put in a safe room when I had pre-retirement $$$.

Just go to any college campus now, and find the 'safe space' so you can 'heal.'

No reason to now. Just the thought of going back to college cured me.

I liked college; a lot to do and no classes to attend. The cramming was tough at the end of the semester, but worth it to keep on going. I was in college late 60s+. We didn't need "safe spaces for healing".

A few our our Phi Sigma Kappa slogans for various years' Greek Week's were:
1) "We do less all day than most people do before 9AM." 2) "Don't touch me, I'm psychedelic."
