I wish I could have the entire world's undivided attention for just twenty seconds. I wouldn't even need to speak, just a vid of me holding up this sign:

ADVICE = NOUN
ADVISE = VERB

I'm willing to save that whole idea/ideal thing for another broadcast.

I wish someone would pull me aside and explain "Vaping". I was tempted initially to wish the word be stricken from the English language, but I've witnessed firsthand how difficult it can be to break a nicotine addiction, so I'm in favor of anything that can help. Still, I never know quite how I'm supposed to act whenever someone pulls one of these things out of their pocket. The one's I've seen look like the product of a hybridization between a Bosun's whistle, and that flashy thing that Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith used in the movies. Should I shield my eyes?? Would I remember if I did??

I wish I could trade the digital information display in my new pickup for a floor-mounted dimmer switch. Be a lot more useful. Do I really need to receive real time updates indicating the current state of torque for my license plate fasteners? In newton-meters as well as inch-lbs?? Come on.

I wish someone would combine the suspension properties of colloidal clay with the granular algaecide Cutrine Plus. Think about that.. treat your pond for algae and the product remains in suspension throughout the water column, acting top to bottom. Like that.

I wish I would invent a trophy bluegill detector. One that I could carry to any BOW, drop a sensor, and have it not only tell me if a trophy BG was present, but pinpoint it's location for accurate casting presentation. I figure side imaging sonar already exists, and I know the scale in our bathroom claims to provide an accurate BMI when I step on it with my bare feet, so it looks to me like I'm one trip to Radio Shack and some duct tape away from making the cover of In-Fisherman.

How about it Santa? I've been a good boy, more or less.

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

I suspect I will soon become reacquainted with PLC's. Been awhile for that.

If that's the case, may want to check this place out.
plctalk.net

Lot's of good people from around the world with experience that will help, but need to keep it on topic, post your hardware/software, good description (as best as you can) and zip up any files you wish to post for someone to look at.

Pretty decent place, but your Sparky-isms, won't fly.

Probably not my kind of place, then. If there's no room to take a step back and smile once in awhile, then the room's already too crowded.

Well said. A great philosophy to live by in my opinion. smile

It's a place to learn, and fairly restricted to that.

Definitely not crowded, and room for more Pro's. Most local Pro's help out on that forum, but we all text, call or email each other if need be, so not much input on the forum.

Just a resource for help is all.

What's the problem, Bill?

You don't think getting a solid solution to a problem issue is a good thing?

Not that man. I just think you can do both at the same time. PBF is a good example.

That's why there are different venues. Learning from some sources and fun from others.

You can do both here, but it's an "it depends" on most issues, so nailing the problem down might take a while, where you might be able to get a solution in a few minutes.

Would that be the same real world where I've run a successful, sole proprietorship for the last nine years? And I think I've got a fairly good grasp of accountability also. If a lawnmower blade spins loose at 19,000 fpm and kills someone after I had it off, want to guess who's on the hook for that? smile

JKB, I think you've misconstrued my last post. It's not that I don't appreciate the link, but you don't have to live, eat, and breathe a particular vocation in order to prove you take it seriously. There are certainly those who do, but it's not a requirement. There is a time and a place for both seriousness, and levity. And it's not all the time, nor everyplace, for either one.

I believe it's about balance. I intend to go into my new job with a can-do attitude, and give it everything I've got. But I think I've managed to learn a couple of pretty important lessons over the years, number one being the people whose opinions matter the most are the three individuals who share this home with me, and number two is that no matter how good you are, there is always someone better. Maybe we haven't met them yet, but they're out there. Always.

I'm not sure, but I think Walmart patrons are required to wear shoes, so probably not.
