Been a while since I've been on here, like years. Hope everybody is well and y'alls ponds are producing big fish. Some of you may see my ad in the magazine and some of you may know my company supplies shad throughout the Southeast for companies like Greg Grimes' and a few others.
My hauling tanks are deteriorating after 5 years of heavy use and abuse across the interstates and down the woods roads of America and I need to replace them. We have the ability to construct the tanks and lids as well as install the aeration/oxygenation systems. The key feature I'm having trouble tracking down is the lift-style valve most stocking trucks have.
If any of you guys have any info on getting a hold of these, preferably in a 3" that would be great. I'm planning on using a stock 42" diameter round HDPE tank, fiberglassing a shell around the outside of it (1-1.5" greater radius), and pour-foaming the interstitial space for insulation. We'll construct lids out of 3/4" PVC foam board for easy access and insulation on the top.
I plan to put 4 of these on a trailer and plumb them all together into 1 outlet pipe that can be easily extended for long-reach applications when the bank isn't negotiable in a 4x4 F-250.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks. Shawn aka Shadman

Shawn, you mean the knife valve that is used to let the water out of the tank, along with the fish?
If so, look at the Pentair/Aquatic Ecosystems catalog. They are in there.
Where do you get your airstones from?

Where do you get your airstones from? I have an account with Pentair, didn't know they had the valves! Thus far, I haven't used oxygen to haul, but I am setting these new tanks up for a system. I have the 6" point 4 stones. I use two pumps with a Dannco venturi on each one at this point. My loads are 40 lbs, and they do great. We had a break down near Augusta, GA about 2 hours away on our way to the SC coast for a delivery earlier this year which required us to stay overnight (during master's weekend UGH). The shad ended up with a 28 hour hold time and we only had a handful, literally, of dead fish in 4 loads. I would be using the oxygen for transporting denser quantities of fresh caught fish back to the shop for purging.

The knife gate valves are on Ebay and Amazon too. Stoney Creek Equipment Company an advertiser here also has them.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
