These fish were caught in a minnow trap at feeding time yesterday in around 10 minutes. My question is, are they bluegill, GSF, or is it too early to tell?
Connor - most of the fish in the 1st pic are GSF, one in 2nd pic is a BG or small RES and one in last pic is a GSF. For GSF this size,, look for a tiny light color margin on the edges/rim and back of their gill flap. In BG this size the flap will be all or wholly black no light border. Also I think their eyes are a little too big for a fish their size compared to my current GSF that size, so I think they are too abundant and starting to get stunted even at this small size.
