Congrats! And welcome to PB.

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

looks to be a channel catfish. Where did you find the idea for that dock, looks quite nifty.

Welcome to PBF!

IMO the catfish is either a blue or a channel. Hard to tell by the photo but I will guess blue. I tell the difference by the shape of the anal fin (the long fin along the bottom near the tail). The blue has a straight fin, the channel has a more curved or rounded one. A lot of time the channel will also have several small black spots scattered along the flank, but not always. In my experience, the spots tend to disappear on larger fish, especially the males.

Again,

Welcome to PBF!

Welcome to the forum. The fish could also be a hybrid cross between a blue and a channel. (there are a few black spots on it).

I seen it on the Internet under searching cantilever dock. I drove the 6x6 post in with my excavator. The post on the back are about 6 ft in the ground the tall post are 9 ft in the ground. It has a 3/8 cable holding the end of the dock to the rear. Although it didn't need it. Just a looks thing.

I added a stone almost water fall with a small sediment pond behind it to the inlet of my pond. What do ya think?

Looks neat. Do you think you will get some erosion above it in a heavy rain?

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I sowed it in rye and fescue after the pic covered in straw hoping to get some cover started before that happens.
