I'll try to post a few more pics later once we get some water but other than habitat we're about done.

Getting 4-5 quotes was helpful if for no other reason than after the first few I felt like I had a bit more knowledge about what to ask and listen for when talking to the contactors.

I'm curious how you feel you came out by going the hourly rate compared to your original turnkey and other bids for a completed project.

It would not be proper for me to ask what you paid, but if you could could give us some sort of comparison of how your hourly rate project turned out in comparison to your bids, it would be interesting to me and I think a lot of other PBF members.

Glad you got your project done and hope you enjoy your pond as much as my wife and enjoy ours. We enjoy ours a lot.

Honestly once totaled up it may have turned out to be 6 of one half dozen of the other. I think I saved a bit by going the route I did since I put a 1200' road in as well. If you have 2-3 contractors give you an estimate, well it turns out that is probably close to what it will cost however you go about it.

Whether I'm content with the cost I guess will depend on what the pond looks like after we finally get some rain. grin
