Question. I just saw someone from the fire department who gets to use our 60 acre gravel pit to train his firefighters. I asked him a few questions and the one thing he said was that there is so much silt on the bottom he said its like a 2-3 foot layer and his firefighters have to reach for stuff blindly if a piece of equipment falls to the bottom, they dive all the way to the bottom 55 feet, not sure when he starts seeing this heavy silt, he also said it is ice cold at deepest levels. Is the silt a problem can it be fixed in a 60 acre lake?? I would worry about our aquifer getting clogged up. Thanks.
