So I'm standin' in the kitchen area gettin' breakfast ready and I catch a glimpse outta the corner of my eye; a large white bird...no, about 3. The only large white birds that I have seen at the pond were egrets, so I grab the binocs and scoot over to the picture windows. Well, there's more like 10 or 12 of them, and they ain't egrets. They were large, very white, distinct black cap and long yellow'ish bill. Hmmm....never saw this breed at the pond before, so I watched 'em darting and swooping over the water. Then one folds up and goes into a vertical dive! OK, this is NOT good. That's all I needed to see. I opened the window and started clapping as rapidly and loudly as possible. It took a couple of minutes, and my hands and arm muscles were startin' to burn, but the group of moochers got disenchanted, circled a half dozen times within the pond treeline, and hit the horizon; gone. I grabbed the bird book and presume them to be common terns. New experience for me.

Do you have any report of the fishery? How is it doing for sizes of your fish?

Terns? Can you post photo? Hopefully they were just passing through, like Comorants do sometimes at my place in Spring.

How is it doing for sizes of your fish? I am determined to finish this gar/apt project, particularly since it has consumed most all my weekends and vacation time for the past 6 years. I believe/hope/pray that I am on the last month or so of time commitment. After that, Dski and I MUST get outside and tend to the pond, invasive trees, walking trails, etc. I am forever grateful for the time and guidance that (mostly) you and the PB support team gave me in setting up the fish stocking, but I never dreamed that building a small home was gonna be so consuming. It will be nice to be able to go to the pond project some weekend with nothing more on my agenda than to be a water bug.

Can't wait for an update on your fishery, Bski. When I first joined the forum you were just establishing it - it's going to be like unwrapping a Christmas gift found in the attic from 2009.
