Quick question for you guys.
We put in our max amount (10/acre) of carp back in 2010 on our lakes to try to manage the coontail here in Texas. Well that didn't work at all.
Since then we have used sonar and whitecap to knock it out but obviously want to be proactive this time. We do have the initial stocker carp in the lake and they are small submarines to say the least but the do swim the shores and eat on anything green that gets in the water.
The first 7 acre lake we tried the whitecap in is on year 4 now with no reoccurrence of coontail but it was stocked initially with around 70 carp. How many of them are left... who knows.
I do believe the carp work in preventing moss from coming back if they are in at decent levels before the moss even starts to come back. Then cannot handle the coontail at full infestation at any level I tried. Atleast that's what I've found here in our ponds in Texas.
Anyone of you guys ever called to get another permit on the same BOW you did before. I want to reintroduce new carp to keep the lake looking nice. Prevention like this is much cheaper than gallons of sonar.

I doubt that you would have a problem. I don't think TPWD cares how many you stock as long as they stay where you put them with an excluder fence.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

that's what I though myself. Just don't know how to do it paperwork-wise.
I called today but had to leave a message, I'd like to talk with someone on the proper way to do this as im sure they keep a log and know who and where etc.

I guess they do but I'm not sure I would worry about it.
