welcome to PB lynham. just providing a bump for you, and my initial thoughts....which are mostly questions.......do you aerate the ponds now? if not, this is definitely one step you can take to help keep good water quality...

how big are the ponds? what kind of fish? and the all important question which if i dont ask, someone else will.....what are yer objectives for these ponds?

i'd be careful with the CuSO4, too much will kill the fish. it can be effective with the right dosage to the right areas, but only by knowing exactly how to use it, hopefully you'll get some additional advice..........

Hi Lynham,
I have had good luck with algea over time with the use of a water sterilizer. I don't mean to boil it but in one of your pump or filter lines I would install the appropriate sized UV sterilizer and then check water condition as well. After using a sterilizer in my 17X10X4 foot deep pond in a week or two the water was clear to see to the bottom and the UV1 9watt Tetra unit was all that I used for this- no chemicals. Good Mechanical filtration would help get the particles out as well.Foster and Smith is one place to get one.
