With the rain that we had yesterday, that tipped the bucket so I started to get runoff into my pond at a much faster rate. I'm about 3" from going over the overflow. The pond is now looking like the pond should look!!!

Pics tonight - I have to hit the road and deliver fish. I just stopped by the house to see what it looked like as I left before sunrise.

It's been about 5 years since the pond has been anywhere near this full.

I'm a happy camper!!!

I'm happy for ya but envious. My pond is still down about 20"s. I know that delightful feeling lookin at a pond at capacity. Any risk of losing fish if it goes heavy over the overflow?

Nice! I measured mine this morning it still needs 34" to get to the bottom of the pipe.. It's up a foot or so since June 1.
Looking forward to seeing your pics!

9 yr old pond, 1 ac, 15' deep.
RES, YP, GS, FHM (no longer), HBG (going away), SMB, and HSB (only one seen in 5 yrs) Restocked HSB (2020) Have seen one of these.
I think that's about all I should put in my little pond.

Good news! Let's see those pics!

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

Congrats Scott. Water is a very good thing.

So, do you have any, or are there any, plans for the tannins you mentioned to me, or does the stained water eventually go away? I'm going on 3 months of old-tea colored water my own self.

That's true. I was planning on running the well 24/7 to get the pond level up before Fatih and Keith arrived.

Camera was above water, but I didn't get back from delivering fish until after 10 pm yesterday. Office catch-up today due to rain.

O.K. a preface:

The pond water was about 10" lower than in this picture earlier this year. The floating portion of the dock that is closest to shore? The water line was a bit pond side of that end.

Here's from early yesterday. The pond came up another 2" since this picture was taken.

A few more inches to go until it starts flowing out.

A few weeks ago the pond was as low as it was back in 2010.

You can see how much the water came up by the weeds that were growing near the water a few weeks ago and that now are underwater.

The tannin stained water color:

Looks good! That's a double Whoo Hoo if ya didn't have to run the well all that time for the guy's visit.

A few days ago I saw a power company line truck buzz down the road and it had this huge auger attachment on it for poking power poles in the ground. Thinking back, our line truck has an auger attachment.

Inquired with the boss to verify and specifics. Yep, can drill an 18" dia x 16' deep hole pretty quick. I started to mention "water table" and dropping a large pipe down... Yep, do that all the time. If you want a larger dia hole, can get rental augers to 30", but only have 18" on the truck.

The farm up north we did all this fancy control stuff for, their water supply for the op. comes from a 12" dia PVC pipe that was drilled into the water table and only has a tethered sump pump in the bottom.

16' down, it's pretty wet around here.
