They say the immediate heat made by a bolt of lighting can be hotter then the surface of the sun!! Yeah, some of the shards of wood I found scattered about were somewhat charred. Reminded me of a story a buddy of mine often tells, about when he and some friends were camping on a river bank during a thunderstorm and a bolt of lightening struck a dead tree across the river from them, showering their camp with burning embers. I always figured he was exaggerating.............. I guess I should now apologize to him. lol It is "good art" to leave there. Will remind you and others of why it should be taken seriously. Good conversation piece. Yeah, since clearing the debris I've received a few inquiries as to what happened........ Just the other day, a UPS driver asked me if a tornado struck that tree out by the driveway. lol Note: I meant to post these responses earlier, but my PC took a dump and I just got around to fixing it.
