Just released (2) orders of Anderson's Golden Shiner Fry; I suppose that totals to 500,000 little guys... The view is looking down into a green tub, and the sky is reflected in part of the pictures:

Very cool and a great pic! What's your plan with them? Grow out pond then into a bigger pond?

They have gone into a 1/4 acre neighborhood retention pond with existing SMB, LMB, HSB, YP, BG, and CC.
The pond also has a strong population of adult Golden Shiners that are 6"+.

I just did the same thing here last week Sunil...teeny weenie little guys aren't they? I released mine in the shallow, FA infested cove of my big pond. Hopefully they'll go to work eating FA and growing mightily into quality feed for the other fish.

mnfish, I'll update what I see.
I don't really have any expectations.
I'm hoping I have a bloom going so these little guys have something to eat.

Your hair looks unkempt in that reflection. Yes, and it also looks to me like the third fry from the left in the upper right hand corner of the second picture is a GSF, not a GSH. You didn't make the mistake of ordering from Livingston's instead of Anderson's, did you?

I thought it a tad unusual order, to say the least. But hey, the check cleared.
Nice eye, Yolkster.
"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"
If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1) And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1) Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT? PB answer: It depends.

Guys Relax! No worries. Sunil has been around the forum a long time. I am sure he meticuously hand sorted those guys before release. BTW row 129 17th from the right is for sure a common carp!

I think you all know me to be very diligent and detail oriented.
As such, I was fully prepared to dedicate the estimated 16,987 hours required to make an accurate tally, prior to stocking.
I had demanded accuracy of count, first, and then purity of species, when I placed my order.
Naturally, I set out to confirm count first.
I lost count (18) times between 212,000 and 221,000.

The fry are probably close to 1/2" long now, and the shore lines are polluted with them!!
There are so many that the water just seems a bit murky, but when you look very closely, it's the shiner fry.
Plus, I'm sure I've got other YOY happening.
