Owens and williams sold out of last years Red Breast sunfish and tell me this years will not be ready 2-3" until Novemeber.
they are located just south or ATL GA .
Seems they would not have that late a spawn and the fish would be that size and big enough to sell before November.
That seems like pretty slow developemt to me, does this seem normal?

A number of fish growers don't want their fish growing fast, and the resultant feed bill.

still seemed like slow developent to me.
They did say they do not feed at all, they are natural pond grown fish. I guess they stock the breeders and let them breed. After that they have to eat bugs or what ever.
They should fatten up when I get them, the Grass shrimp, FHM and crayfish are breeding and waiting the arrival of them.

RBS don't have nearly as fast a growth rate as BG do.
