OK, I had a pond built near Gatesville, Texas. Was hoping for about a 2-3 acre finished product. Not real satisfied with the outcome. Oh, it holds water and site, as suggested by the contractor appears good. However, actual surface area size of finisned and filled pond, as estimated by contractor, is only about 40-60% of what contractor indicated surface area to be. I'm done with this contractor. Contractor in retrospect appears to be someone who promises more but delivers less. Basically, I feel a little taken; probably due to my own ignorance about this type of project.
I need a professional, legitimate, and trustworthy pond designer/consultant in Central Texas. Can someone here suggest someone in the Temple, north Austin, Lampasas area that has a track record of pond/lake buiding that can help me out with further developement of this project? Regards and thanks.

Welcome to PBF!
FWIW, if I lived in Texas, my first call would be to Mike Otto. He literally wrote the book on pond building.

Gatesville might be a little far for Mike to drag a dozer. However, he would certainly be worth talking to.
BTW, did the guy say why it was smaller than originally discussed?

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
