What can I use to kill ticks around the pond that won't be a problem to the water quality? This would be at least 20 ft. from the edge of the pond. Every thing we have looked at has a warning about washing into water. Our 12 1/2 ac. pond has a small creek flowing through it year round. Avg. depth about 9-10 ft. Any help would be appreciated . Thanks, Tom

If there isn't flowering plants there, and you can buy it (it's a restricted chemical and only licensed applicators can purchase it), Pounce works well. It's toxic to bees, that's the reason why I asked about flowers.
If you can stand the noise, Guinea Hens (fowl) are supposed to be good at finding and eating them too.

I think I'd rather have the ticks.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I think I'll try for the pounce,(thanks esshup) I used to work for our local Farm Service and still know some of the guys there.
SWMBO,remembering her childhood,said "Guineas? NO WAY!!" LOL

Guineas do make an excellent watchdog...and gumbo as well...
...when in doubt...set the hook...

If you have coyotes, good luck keeping guineas. They also like to roost up high, like on your house, but when they nest on the ground, all of ours were wiped out. I did like having them while they lasted.
