We have discussed bat houses but realize they may not ever work and make take several years to come in use. I will have bottom aeriation later. Is that enough to keep mosquitos from hatching? What can I spray along the shore safely to kill them? Any suggestion? We are wanting to do some night fishing. Are electric bug zappers worth it? Any suggestions and advise would be greatly appreciated.
Dear Alcohol, We had a deal where you would make me funnier, smarter, and a better dancer... I saw the video... We need to talk.

Gambusias work for the skeeter larvae real good. Not so sure on bug zapper. Skeeters drawn by heat I think

Stock up on the minnows. They eat the mosquito larvae.

Skeeters are drawn by CO2, then hone in by heat. Both Gams and FHM work well for controlling mosquito larvae.

Best mosquito tool I have ever used. Mosquito's can be so thick you don't want to breath up North as well as black flies. This in a 12 foot aluminum boat will keep them all away. It just emits something and runs on a small flame. Love the small hand held unit. Just snag them at wallmart. Cheers Don.

Thermacell works nicely. We utilize these at times: http://www.basspro.com/ThermaCELL-Mosquito-Repellent/product/10225749/But we also utilize these all of the time we need to - dryer sheets A quick wipe of the exposed skin and tuck in a pocket or under a hat and for all of us this works quite nicely. Keeps the skeeters away. Doesn't do anything for ticks though, so if you're concerned about ticks then a DEET repellant is what you'll need.
