Hi guys, I have a 2.7 acre pond in northern Wisconsin (averaging 16 feet deep). I am adding air this summer and plan on stocking this spring. I am throwing in 200 trout for fun.

However, I also want to add hybrid bluegill and potentially some LMB (along with fatheads). What would be a good ratio of: HBG's, LMB, and fatheads per acre?

Thanks in advance!!

What are your goals?

I can say if you want to see anything but stunted LMB, I'd stock regular BG and not HBG. If you don't care about bass growth but want to focus on HBG growth then that combo is OK.

Many think it's overly challenging to grow quality BG up north so they resort to hybrids. I say baloney! You just need to stock the right species at the right sizes at the right times.

Welcome to PBF!

I would go ahead and get the fatheads in there. Do you have spawning habitat for them? I would also consider another minnow like GSH that might be more able to sustain a population over time and make sure they have appropriate habitat. IMHO you need to get the minnows in asap before the predators. Any vegetation in the pond yet? Please provide some details on the structure, if any, that is in the pond; things like rock piles, brush piles, etc.
