Finally got around to identifying one of my feathered residents. I see it almost every day, and it flies off, then tries to return after about 30 minutes or so. How much can this guy eat? (Gorgeous bird fwiw). (not my fish, representative photo)

In Montana we would see these guys diving all the time in the rivers, but their catch was much smaller than that one. I would have to say that the wing load for that catch would be interesting!!! Would love to have that strength.

While relaxing after a delivery at Lake Norris, I got to watch an Osprey dive 3 times into water much deeper than the 3' mentioned above. On it's third dive, it came out with a 2 pound plus, Golden Trout. Nate Herman later said the Osprey was gladly donated a trout a day...It was pretty awe inspiring to watch! I leave the majestic birds of prey like Osprey and Eagles free reign over fish wanted...

We have 12 or so pairs, in the stretch of lake that I fish regularly. I enjoy watching them as much as fishing now. They moved into our area about 6 years ago. Before that, I had never seen one. The rarely miss on a dive and most of the fish I can identify are 1-2 lb lmb. The are great at locating early spring shallow bass.
