I am not sure if this is the right section but will try here first. I am looking for a high capacity water pump that I will use to pump about 4 acres of water from our duck marsh area. I was thinking something similar to the link I posted would be good for my project.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Thanks
Matt

Can't go wrong with a Honda motor.

I just finished pumping out my pond with one of these:

It was absolutely rock solid. Ran basically non stop for 2 weeks, and never even flinched.

Agree with Chris. I think the Honda motor is a huge consideration. I've thrown a rod in one B&D and had the piston seize up in another.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

23,000 gph will drain about 1/4 inch per hour in a 4 acre pond. That is, if it really is working at the advertised(maximum) rate. I personally don't like to run a gas powered pump at the max rate. So, it depends on the depth. Duck marshes, actually swamps, are seldom ever totally dried out.

What are your goals?
