Hey Eaton30,

What makes you think you are going to need a well? Not all ponds do.

FWIW My well is 5 inch, 1.5 HP constant pressure variable speed pump that delivers 35 GPM at 60 psig. I can raise my approximate 1/4 acre 5 to 6 inches in 48 hours. I have a water table pond so the 35 GPM also has to make up the leakage back to water table during the 48 hours of pumping.

Edit: The reason I sized mine so large is it also provides water to the house and my geothermal pump and dump.

eaton, 1 inch of water over an acre is about 27,000 gallons. It depends on just how often you will want to use it, your budget, etc.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
