Project report: I had gotten a bunch of input from you fellas a few months ago about depositing structure in my Southern MN pond (thanks again to everybody). I settled on building a 8x4x4 crib full of concrete blocks and dropping them through the melting ice. Here's a picture of the completed crib, and a link to the video when it went through. I happened to be adjusting the game camera to capture the moment. I was standing behind the paddleboat that it was mounted to when the action happened, so about ten feet away from the action.
Two points:
1) It appears that it went through exactly where I wanted and in the position I wanted. A later look already had fish loitering around it.
2) I discovered that I can run 30 feet to a shoreline in just over 2 tenths of a second.
