Being able to get your line out like to a dam is a great idea. I've heard stories about what lies below. I read this article about an old timer that built his own rc fishing boat and he was the King of Shark Fishing in Florida in the 70's.

A buddy of mine tried fishing with a little RC boat in the river a few years ago. I dun know what he was thinking but he actually tied a line to the little boat, baited the hook with a crawler and started trolling. From his description of what happened, I figure it was a big carp or cat that took it. Boat headed down river and submerged, kind a like in the movie Jaws when they hooked the shark up to the barrels. Never saw the boat again.
