I am in the process of revitalizing my pond. Last year, when I first gained control of the pond all shallows were covered with smart grass and it had large floating mats of spike rush. I used the recommended herbicides and beat them back as much as possible without a fish kill. I also added 2 tons of lime (1/3 recommended amount). Pond is clear out to 7 feet, and I am thinking about adding aquashade blue dye along with the rest of the recommended amount of lime.
Will adding the dye be an effective way to combat the weed growth? If so, can I add it and lime in the same week?

I really believe that it helps me combat FA in our pond. A long with a great population of crayfish we hardly see much FA at all. First few years it was like goobs and goobs of it floating everywhere every day.
Cheers Don.
